About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator I to operate heavy equipment at its landfill in White Hall, Arkansas. The position supports waste management operations and requires safe, skilled operation of equipment, adherence to site procedures, and routine equipment care. The normal work setting is a shop or field, with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes for most of the workday. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with weekends as needed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Able to work independently and solve problems independently.
• Take accountability for following safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively and support colleagues.
• Use motor coordination and finger dexterity for tasks such as machine operation most of the workday.
• Exert physical effort to handle objects weighing less than 30 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
• Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
