About The Position

Five Rivers Analytics (FRA) is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work in Fort Hood, TX. This role involves analyzing malfunctions and repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining various types of power equipment and tracked/wheeled vehicles. The position requires working both indoors and outdoors, with potential for periodic overtime and exposure to various weather conditions. The job description is not exhaustive and duties may change.

Requirements

  • 5+ years heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result.
  • Ability to bring and use own tools.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Certification.
  • U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Commercial Driver License with Passenger Endorsement.
  • High School Diploma / GED.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, pneumatic tools, and tracked/wheeled vehicles.
  • Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
  • Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
  • Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions.
  • Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Welds broken parts and structural members.
  • May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
  • May repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.
