About The Position

Champ Landfill is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Competitive pay with monthly safety bonuses! This role involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment, including compactors, dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks, and articulated dump trucks. The ideal candidate will be safety-minded, possess integrity, and contribute positively to the team and community. Waste Connections is an integrated solid waste services company focused on providing collection, transfer, disposal, and recycling services.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate service and technical information.
Minimum of 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Must own personal tools.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate compactors, bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor grader experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of engine and powertrain components, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Effectively and efficiently repair equipment.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
