About The Position

We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec. This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reporting to the Mechanical Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding a variety of heavy equipment while providing regular updates to the Team Lead.

Requirements

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or an equivalent combination of education and training, with skills in electrical systems, hydraulics, diesel engines, transmissions, and welding.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Class 5 driver's license (required).
A complete personal toolbox (both imperial and metric tools).
Proven ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
Strong attention to detail, versatility, and reliability.
Initiative and the ability to manage tasks independently.
Solid mechanical knowledge and familiarity with modern equipment technologies.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive, general, and scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and forklifts.
Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the root cause of equipment failures.
Perform both minor and major repairs on: Engines, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Braking and steering systems, Electrical and electronic systems, Transmission components.
Complete work orders and inspection reports, documenting all work performed.
Ensure proper operation and responsible use of company equipment.
Inform the immediate supervisor of any unplanned repairs, identified issues, or work exceeding estimated repair times.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
