About The Position

The Martin Marietta Upper Midwest Region is looking for a versatile Heavy Equipment Mechanic based out of our Maple Grove Maintenance Facility. This position will perform mechanical repairs on diesel powered mobile equipment as well as aggregate and asphalt plant equipment (loaders, dozers, crushers, conveyors, etc.). Responsibilities include trouble shooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment. This is a union position and membership in the Operating Engineers Local 49 is required, current member preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years heavy equipment experience
A valid CDL (Class A or B) and excellent driving record
Knowledge of Cat ET/SIS, Volvo Prosis needed
Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deer, and Volvo quarry/construction equipment/diesel engine repairs
Must provide own hand tools
Membership in the Operating Engineers Local 49 is required

Nice To Haves

Current member of Operating Engineers Local 49 preferred
Advanced knowledge of yellow iron preferred
Additional schooling/certifications a plus

Responsibilities

Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair
Weld, cut, fabricate as needed
Perform mechanical repairs on diesel powered mobile equipment as well as aggregate and asphalt plant equipment (loaders, dozers, crushers, conveyors, etc.)
Trouble shooting and repairs of heavy equipment
Rebuilds
Removal and installation of mechanical parts
Preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment
