Tessera is seeking an experienced and detailed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (EVT III) with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Perform maintenance of equipment to include, but not limited to, Aircraft Rescue & Fire-Fighting (ARFF) vehicles, Fire Apparatus vehicles, wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment. Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in established technical manuals and IAW National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Perform inspection and repair on brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, and steering systems IAW with OEM recommendations and NFPA standards. Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring, and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual services. Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation of assemblies and installation of components. Maintain Operational Vehicle Maintenance schedules. Responsible for various reports- i.e., schedules, training, attendance, evaluations, various employee documentations, correct time keeping, and accident reports. Train employees on job tasks and assignments to ensure complete understanding of work assigned. Monitor employee performance to ensure efficient use of time and performance of work tasks. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Coach, mentor, and resolve employee concerns in a respectful and mutually beneficial manner. Monitor employees to ensure efficient use of time, performance, and understanding of work tasks. Record daily personnel attendance and track employee absences, tardiness, etc. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
