About The Position

Techo-Bloc is looking for a mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of mobile equipment and company vehicles. Our fleet includes a wide variety of equipment, including more than 40 forklifts with capacities of 3,000 lbs and above, primarily Caterpillar, Toyota, Hyster, and Linde models, as well as aerial lifts, wheel loaders, and various company-owned vehicles. You will work with a passionate and dynamic team where teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support are at the forefront.

Requirements

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in construction equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, or another relevant field
Experience in mobile equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, or a related field
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Basic knowledge of cutting, fabrication, and welding tools
Valid driver’s licence
Strong autonomy, resourcefulness, and initiative
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with different departments

Nice To Haves

Ability to read plans, sketches, technical manuals, and service bulletins
Ability to read technical documentation in both English and French
Forklift operator certification

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on forklifts, mobile equipment, and the company’s automotive fleet
Inspect equipment and verify the proper operation of Caterpillar, Toyota, Hyster, and Linde forklifts
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Complete required repairs and replace defective parts using hand, power, and mechanical tools
Review inspection reports to identify and complete the work required to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
Lubricate equipment and perform recommended preventive maintenance
Clean forklifts, vehicles, and heavy equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment
Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operation and ensure repairs meet manufacturer requirements
Keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organized
Document all maintenance and repair work performed
Travel, as needed, between company facilities located within an approximately 5 km radius to perform maintenance and repairs
Perform any other related duties
