The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of quarry, aggregate, and heavy construction equipment both in the shop and in the field. This role services a wide range of equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, loaders, excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, skid steers, and other heavy mobile and stationary equipment used in quarry and aggregate operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license required

Nice To Haves

• Technical or vocational training in diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Experience in repairing quarry, mining, aggregate, construction, or heavy industrial equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, powertrains, and heavy equipment components.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and equipment diagnostics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on quarry and heavy construction equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and powertrain issues.
• Inspect and maintain crushers, screens, conveyors, loader, excavators, dozers, haul trucks, and other aggregate processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical system failures using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform repairs and component replacements, including engines, pumps, cylinders, motors, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
