About The Position

This role requires a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic responsible for operating equipment safely, adhering to safety rules, and completing workplace exams to control identified hazards. The position involves physically demanding tasks, including climbing stairs and ladders, and safely mounting/dismounting equipment. The mechanic will perform routine work independently and non-routine work with supervision, and is expected to maintain good housekeeping in the work area. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to interpret equipment prints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics. The role also requires the use of standard repair tools and testing instruments.

Requirements

4-years of heavy equipment experience working on equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks and farm equipment or two years experience with a two year diesel mechanic degree.
Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and electronically.
Ability to read and interpret simple equipment prints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
Capability of using all ordinary repair tools and electrical/hydraulic testing instruments.
Capability of performing routine work without supervision and non-routine work with simple supervision or in conjunction with technicians of higher classification.
Ability to work in a group or independently.
Ability to perform cleanup work and maintain good housekeeping.
Ability to supply a drive set up to ½”, a wrench set up to 1-1/4”, an impact set up to ½”, and other basic tools.

Responsibilities
