About The Position

Stepp’s Towing & Heavy Transport, a family-owned business since 1960, is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operators to join their team. They specialize in light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing, heavy transport, and auto salvage, serving the greater Tampa Bay and Orlando areas. The company is looking for candidates with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. They emphasize a no slip seating policy, meaning drivers keep their assigned truck, and drivers must have their own set of tools once assigned. Requirements

• Class A CDL with at least 2 years of verifiable experience
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Proven heavy-duty towing experience
• Registered in the DOT Clearinghouse
• Clean driving record for the last 3 years
• Able to pass background check and drug test
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Significant physical strength and stamina
• All drivers must have their own set of tools once assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate Heavy Tow Trucks, Rollbacks, and Service Trucks efficiently and safely
• Respond to Florida Traffic Incident Management Program calls and RISC
• Work safely at accident scenes, often in traffic and all-weather conditions
• Cooperate closely with law enforcement and other first responders
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers
• Operate GPS mapping devices
