About The Position
Finning is growing and hiring multiple Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics to join their Integrated Mining Team (IMT). This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, power systems, and mining equipment throughout Northern BC and the Yukon. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused Heavy Duty Mechanic with a Red Seal endorsement, seeking stability and career growth.
Requirements
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Red Seal Off Road certificate required
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent driver’s abstract
- 3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the field
- Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Mining operations experience is an asset
- Strong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain clear customer communication.
- Perform running repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance across a wide range of Caterpillar Mining Equipment.
