About The Position

Finning is growing fast and is looking for Heavy Duty Mechanics to support its expanding operations and ongoing projects. This role is part of the Mobile Tech Team, offering a 14x14 (or 7x7) remote work schedule. The position involves troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment, utilizing Caterpillar SIS and ET daily, and completing technical documentation. The mechanic will interact with customers, sales support, and the Finning team, and work with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Field truck experience - two years minimum
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
• Willingness to participate and complete additional training
• Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• Required to become a member of the Union associated with this position

Nice To Haves

• Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks as required
