About The Position

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is hiring multiple Heavy Duty Mechanics to join their expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time, camp-based position located at the McIlvenna Bay site in Northern Saskatchewan, offering either a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation with travel support. The McIlvenna Bay project is a significant copper development project in Canada, with commercial production expected in mid-2026. The site operates a full fleet of Sandvik battery electric vehicles (BEVs), setting new standards in safety, efficiency, and environmental performance. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be part of the Mechanical Team, responsible for executing mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman or Red Seal certification.
  • Automotive Mechanic Journeyman may be considered.
  • 2+ yrs experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a mining or heavy industry setting preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for maintenance activities at mine sites.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
