About The Position

Point Spring & Driveshaft Co. is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to perform precision repairs and help return trucks to service. The role involves diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty truck components, using diagnostic tools and technical references to resolve problems, documenting repairs and parts used, and maintaining a safe, organized shop. The mechanic works with team members to complete repairs promptly and minimize downtime, and operates shop equipment such as forklifts and hoists. The position offers hands-on work, access to tools, equipment, and training, and a supportive team environment.

Requirements

At least 2 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Knowledge of hydraulics, suspension, drivetrains, brakes, and electrical systems.
Familiarity with shop tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and repair documentation.
Ability to provide personal tools sufficient for heavy-duty truck maintenance.
Ability to meet the physical demands of frequently standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, or lying down, regularly using hand and shop tools, and lifting and carrying objects up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work around loud noise, grease, fumes, and temperature fluctuations, indoors and occasionally outdoors.
Use of company-provided PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel toe boots, is required.

Nice To Haves

Commercial driver's license (CDL) or ability to obtain one.
State inspection certification in required states.
Experience with drivetrains, trailers, or fleet maintenance.

Responsibilities
