About The Position

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you’ll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You’ll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines out in the field, leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Power generation experience would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Field diagnosis and running repairs
  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs (possibility of remote locations)
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

  • Wage: $50.25 - $55.84
  • Additional field premium of $3.55/hr
