About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Technician to perform preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment. This role will be based in the shop but will require attending site calls and participating in the on-call rotation from time to time. We promote from within, offering career tracks in service and operations management, with opportunities to advance into roles such as shop foreman, operational/service manager, and branch leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• A valid Red Seal (Heavy Duty) is an asset.
