When you join NMB, you’re joining a team that values hard work, accountability, and long‑term growth. We’re looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to make sure everything is ready to go to work. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and taking pride in quality workmanship. This role is on a rotation of 14 days on / 7 days off.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment
  • Journeyman, or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable using technology and diagnostic tools
  • Welding experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Peterbilt, Ford, CAT, John Deere, or Komatsu is an asset
  • Class 1 licence is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all trucks, trailers, and equipment are work-ready at all times
  • Identify issues early to prevent downtime
  • Perform preventative maintenance and regular servicing
  • Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
  • Complete repairs ranging from minor fixes to major overhauls
  • Test equipment after repairs to confirm safe and proper operation
  • Complete work orders and inspection reports accurately
  • Ensure all work meets manufacturer standards
  • Train and mentor apprentices as needed
  • Support team members and maintain strong working relationships across operations
  • Perform welding repairs on equipment and attachments
  • Take on other duties as assigned
