About The Position

We are looking for three Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians to join our Mobile Maintenance team, working alongside a collaborative, safety-focused group. In this role, you’ll maintain and repair a range of mobile equipment, playing a key part in keeping operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently across the smelting site. The Mobile Maintenance team operates on a variety of schedules, including 12-hour day and night shifts, as well as day shift-only opportunities. All schedules include alternating weekends. This is a great opportunity for a skilled and motivated mechanic to build their experience working on a wide range of mobile equipment in a large-scale industrial setting. Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Interprovincial Red Seal certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET)
  • A valid provincial driver’s licence (minimum Class 7), or equivalent from another province
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing mobile equipment, including Linde, Mecfor, Caterpillar, and/or Techmo equipment

Responsibilities

  • Actively contributing to a safety-first culture by identifying hazards, speaking up, and supporting safe work practices across the team
  • Participating in safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident investigations to support continuous improvement
  • Maintaining clean and organised work areas while adhering to site safety and environmental standards
  • Performing inspection, maintenance, and repair of mobile equipment in line with work plans and quality expectations
  • Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining equipment integrity and reliability
  • Accurately documenting work performed to support effective communication across shifts and teams
  • Conducting equipment reviews to ensure compliance with site standards and operational requirements
  • Supporting the development of apprentices by sharing knowledge, coaching, and assigning tasks that support their progression
