About The Position

Truck Centers, Inc. is seeking a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join its Service department. The mechanic performs quality service and repairs to help customers get their trucks back on the road, following OEM, warranty, and dealership standards. The position works day shifts Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays. A sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 is available based on experience. The role includes diagnosing and repairing truck systems, documenting findings and work, coordinating with Parts and service staff, checking repair quality, and road-testing vehicles. Candidates must bring their own tools; the company provides specialty and OEM-required tooling for communal on-site use.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
A certificate from a diesel technician training school or at least 4 years of mechanical medium- or heavy-duty truck service experience in a shop or military installation.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality work.
Must provide own tools.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred; Class A CDL highly preferred.
Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform work according to OEM, warranty, and dealership standards.
Read repair orders; observe and listen to vehicle operation; gather diagnostic information; identify malfunctions; plan procedures; and perform authorized repairs.
Perform general and major repairs on truck systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electronics.
Document diagnostic findings, repair status, and completed work using Service Notes to support customer communication and warranty processing.
Coordinate with the Parts department to obtain and verify parts, and communicate status updates or requests to the Shop Foreman and Service Administration team.
Perform quality checks on completed work.
Road-test vehicles to verify repairs have resolved customer complaints.
