Maintain heating operations at development locations, operating heating and domestic hot water boilers. This role involves tending to and operating heating equipment, monitoring CHAS equipment, and maintaining, adjusting, and repairing boilers, industrial oil burners, heating and domestic hot water equipment, and all auxiliaries. Technicians will stand watch and fire low-pressure boilers, assist in the inspection and testing of boilers and related equipment, and dismantle or assemble heating equipment, requisitioning parts as needed. Responsibilities also include conducting and scheduling tank inspections, responding to heating/hot water service disruptions, repairing boiler/burners and distribution systems, and providing technical expertise for heating matters. Additionally, they will assist skilled trade administrators in reviewing tickets, follow up on heating issues, and keep logs and make reports. When assigned to a roving team, they will respond to emergency dispatches and perform minor repairs to remedy alarm conditions, especially those caused by abnormalities in steam and hot water. The role requires operating a motor vehicle to travel throughout the five boroughs, checking assigned vehicles for proper operating condition, reporting the need for servicing, and completing equipment and activity reports. Assignments will be made throughout the five boroughs, and technicians are required to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
