About The Position

As a Heating Service Technician, you will complete jobs requested by customers and solve their issues through diagnostic troubleshooting, performing routine maintenance on existing systems, and installing new equipment. Your goal is to provide excellent customer service, ensuring the systems you are working on are safe and operating properly, and completing your work in a timely and effective manner. Your success depends on the quality of work you complete and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • Knowledge of wiring, plumbing and some air conditioning is required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • High customer service focus
  • Technical/mechanical aptitude required
  • Produces outcomes that demonstrate an understanding of financial impacts
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely
  • Gas Technician license or Oil license is required
  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Diploma / Certification

Nice To Haves

  • dual licensing (Oil and Gas) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service-related customer requests (installations, repairs, etc.) by using industry and company best practices and tools to troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Responsible for responding to customers’ needs within established guidelines
  • Diagnose and solve complex system problems by completing steps required during inspection, including checking gas flow, thermostats, heat flow, and insulation etc
  • Analyze existing processes and make recommendations for improve them, using best practices and previous experience
  • Provide consultative services within defined area.
  • Participate in projects and may lead a stream of work within a project.
  • Mitigates risk by identifying potential threats
  • Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely
  • Demonstrate an understanding of our products and services and area's impact on other parts of organization to support operations within Residential & Commercial Energy Services and our customers
  • Provide status updates and pertinent information, as required, to the Service Manager, Fulfillment Managers and other Residential Energy Services team members
  • Ensure and maintain safe working environment according to safety policies and procedures, including PPE, Leak Prevention, Distracted Driving, etc
  • Understand the requirements of the job and work independently with a minimal degree of supervision.
  • Take a lead role in jobs and provide guidance/coaching to more junior employees by encouraging contributions from all team members and leading by example
