Simpson Strong-Tie•Gallatin, TN
•$23 - $35•Onsite

About The Position

Simpson Strong-Tie is hiring a Heat Treat Technician to set up, operate, and maintain heat-treat process equipment, including continuous, batch, and induction systems. The technician reviews production schedules and work orders to determine processing sequences, furnace temperatures, and heat-cycle requirements for components. This full-time, non-exempt role is located in Gallatin, Tennessee, and reports directly to the Department Supervisor. The position works the A/B shift: 11.5-hour shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on a rotating 2-3-2 schedule, alternating between Monday–Tuesday and Saturday–Sunday one week and Wednesday–Friday the next. The role applies heat-treating knowledge—including temperatures, atmospheres, quenching, soaking times, and equipment maintenance—to process fasteners and achieve specified material properties. The technician prepares, loads, and unloads work; checks incoming components; operates and adjusts heat-treat systems; monitors process conditions and test results; and takes corrective action as needed. They use thermal instruments, charts, dials, gauges, and product-testing equipment to control processes and verify product conformance. Other duties include responding to alarms, routine maintenance and troubleshooting, production documentation, supporting equipment repairs during shutdowns, communicating progress to the supervisor, and training new employees. The role requires following all Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and wearing required personal protective equipment. The work involves operating large equipment in a loud manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts and possible exposure to dust, heat or cold, and wet or humid conditions. Travel is not required, and relocation is not available. The pay range is $23.46–$35.19 per hour, plus shift differential.
