Heat Treat Operator - 2nd Shift
About The Position
This role involves the safe operation of a heat treat furnace and its associated temperature instruments. The operator will be responsible for preparing loads for the furnace using a forklift, operating scales, and utilizing a barcoding system. A key part of the job includes testing the hardness of materials using a Rockwell machine and a hardness conversion chart. Additionally, the operator will use a Plasma Nitride Furnace for heat treating tooling and operate a sand blaster and parts washer for cleaning. Minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting are also expected, along with performing any other duties assigned by supervision.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic math skills, addition, subtraction, division, conversion of fractions to decimals, & vice versa.
- Basic computer skills, data input & data extraction.
Responsibilities
- Safe Operation of Heat Treat furnace and furnace temperature instruments.
- Operation of Fork Trucks and building part loads for furnaces.
- Operate Scales and bar coding system.
- Utilize a Rockwell Machine to test hardness using a hardness conversion chart and scales.
- Utilize a Plasma Nitride Furnace to heat treat tooling.
- Operate a sand blaster and parts washer to clean tooling.
- Minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- All other duties required by supervision.
