Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a leading human services provider founded in 1894, offers a wide range of integrated services including social, educational, health, housing, mental health, nutritional, and fitness programs to approximately 16,000 individuals annually on Manhattan's East Side. The organization has transitioned its food services to a farm-to-table model to enhance client health and well-being through access to fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable foods. They serve 250,000 meals yearly across various programs and have launched a Community Meals to Go program. The Teaching Kitchen® initiative trains other nonprofits in adopting farm-to-institution food service models without increasing costs, aiming to improve the health of individuals reliant on government-funded meals, strengthen regional economies, and promote environmental sustainability. The organization also possesses expertise in needs assessment, resource provision, and direct enrollment into programs like SNAP. This role focuses on managing and coordinating all aspects of the community healthy food initiatives across the Neighborhood House. The Healthy Food Initiatives Coordinator will report to the Executive Chef and Director of Culinary Programs and collaborate with the Senior Program Director, overseeing administrative, operational, organizational, and client-facing support for this new initiative.
