About The Position

The Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division, Environmental Public Health section, is seeking a Healthy Fish Consumption Program Coordinator to join the Healthy Waters unit. The position supports implementation and administration of the Healthy Fish Consumption program and leads the design, development, and execution of collaborative research projects. These projects gather socioeconomic and environmental data related to fishing and fish consumption among subsistence, recreational, and Tribal fishers in Oregon. Findings inform OHA fish consumption health advisories and guide outreach and education intended to reduce health risks from contaminated fish. The coordinator drives research activities, supports program operations, contributes to public health messaging that helps communities make informed decisions about eating Oregon’s freshwater fish, identifies program needs, reviews contract bids, and collaborates with toxicologists, public health departments, state and local partners, and community stakeholders to address health hazards related to fish consumption. Recruitment may fill two Portland-based positions: one full-time permanent position and one full-time limited-duration position. Both are SEIU represented and hybrid. Employment is contingent on a criminal records check meeting OHA criteria. The position does not provide visa sponsorship.
