We’re hiring a Healthcare Solutions Lead - Vertical Builders to help build Protege’s motion with healthcare vertical builders — application-layer companies building AI products within healthcare. This role sits at the intersection of customers, commercial, data partners, science, product, and engineering, and is responsible not just for delivering against customer needs, but for helping design the solution set and way of working for this segment from the ground up. Unlike our work with foundation labs, this segment requires a fundamentally different motion. These customers are not typically licensing large pre-training datasets. Success will depend on strong discovery, sharp commercial and technical judgment, and the ability to figure out what actually resonates with healthcare application builders — whether that is evaluation data, benchmarks, data processing, fit-for-purpose datasets, or another scoped solution entirely. This is a true 0→1 role. The right person will help define how Protege serves this market: how we run discovery, how we scope and package work, how we decide what is repeatable versus bespoke, and how we turn early engagements into a scalable offering over time. At Protege, the Solutions Lead is the owner of the engagement from the solutions side: you help lead discovery, define scope, manage intake, coordinate feasibility, and drive delivery once a path is defined. You will pair tightly with the Account Manager - Vertical Builders on the commercial team to understand customer needs, test what lands in the market, and build a repeatable motion together. You will often also be paired with a Forward Deployed Engineer on active engagements — the Solutions Lead owns the engagement and customer workstream, while the FDE owns the technical build and last-mile implementation. This is a highly cross-functional, high-judgment role for someone who can operate with strong customer instincts, deep healthcare data fluency, and exceptional execution discipline. It is a role for a builder in the fullest sense: someone energized by ambiguity, excited to create structure where little exists today, and motivated by the challenge of building a new motion from scratch.
