About The Position

The Portland, Oregon office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Healthcare & Medical Malpractice Practice. The attorney will represent healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings, with work that may include defending medical malpractice lawsuits. The firm’s healthcare practice represents a broad range of providers and handles malpractice actions across numerous medical specialties. The position involves drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. The successful candidate will have strong writing and analytical skills, manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and work independently as well as collaboratively. While healthcare-law experience is preferred, the firm is also interested in talented attorneys with substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in healthcare law.

Requirements

Admission to practice in Oregon.
Two to seven years of experience representing healthcare providers in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.
Strong writing and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in healthcare law.
