About The Position

This is an applicant pool for affiliate faculty positions in Health Care Management. These are temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions that vary from semester to semester based on program needs. The number of positions available will depend on budget and enrollment. The university serves over 16,000 diverse students and is a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The Department of Health Professions aims to prepare diverse students for successful careers in healthcare management, public health, and aging services management through quality, culturally sensitive education. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Health Care Management, Aging Services Leadership, Public Health, and Healthcare Administration, along with various minors, certificates, and badges. The department utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to meet diverse student and community needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health care management or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Dissertation complete, defense pending or professional degree.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3 or more credit hours in areas such as Health Care Organization, Health Care Jurisprudence, Financial Management in Health Care, Human Resource Management in Health Care, Health Care Economics, Management Principles in Health Care, and Strategic Management.
  • Be available for consultation with students.
  • Teach assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content.
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
  • Grade student work and provide robust feedback in a timely manner.
  • Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate.
  • Provide instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and department course coordination policies.
  • Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
  • Adapt and learn new modes of instruction.
  • Be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
