About The Position

The Managing Consultant is a senior, hands-on technical professional who leads client-facing professional services engagements from kickoff through delivery. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in systems engineering, infrastructure, application support, technical consulting, database technologies, or a similar technical discipline who has remained actively involved in performing technical work while also serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating complex environments, solving unfamiliar problems, managing project communications, and delivering results without relying on predefined playbooks or standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Senior-level experience in systems engineering, technical consulting, infrastructure support, application support, database technologies, or a related IT discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects from planning through completion.
  • Experience serving as a primary technical resource, advisor, or project lead.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements.

  • Experience supporting EHR/PM platforms such as NextGen, Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, ModMed, or similar systems.

  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations directly to leadership teams or clients.
  • Current or recent hands-on technical expertise.
  • Independent ownership of technical projects and client engagements.
  • Strong client communication and advisory skills.
  • The ability to create structure and move work forward when requirements are not fully defined.
  • Sound technical judgment and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead professional services engagements from client kickoff through completion.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and point of contact for clients.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, communications, and deliverables.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and gather technical and business requirements.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and solution options to client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal engineers and subject matter experts when specialized support is needed.
  • Support project scoping and effort estimation activities when requested.
  • Personally perform technical discovery, troubleshooting, analysis, configuration, implementation, and optimization activities.
  • Assess issues across infrastructure, applications, databases, integrations, reporting environments, security, and user workflows.
  • Lead or support infrastructure projects, system migrations, upgrades, integrations, optimization efforts, and application initiatives.
  • Develop technical documentation and client-facing deliverables.
  • Use sound judgment to determine when to proceed independently, collaborate, research, or escalate.
  • Create structure and define next steps when requirements are ambiguous or no established SOP exists.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and technical considerations.
  • Balance technical execution with effective client communication and project management.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, billable time tracking, and related engagement records.
  • Support DAS Health's high-touch consulting and service delivery model.
