About The Position

This Application Analyst position at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) will support high-availability healthcare applications in the PeriProcedural and Inpatient spaces within a complex healthcare setting. These applications can be on-premise or cloud-based. The role requires participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve or manage reported incidents. The analyst must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be adept at organizing and facilitating meetings with IT teams, vendors, and clinical staff. A key responsibility includes managing technical debt for assigned applications. This position demands high productivity, proactivity, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. It is a hybrid role, with approximately 70% remote work and 30% on-site work expected, requiring comfort and productivity in both settings.

  • Experience with Windows OS & Office365 tools
  • Experience with Atlassian tools
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration
  • Application support experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with SQL querying

  • General understanding of network architecture

Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, installs, configures, and/or develops software to support clinical and operational workflows.
  • Analyzes clinical or operational workflows supported by the assigned products and their relationship to the technical environment in which they operate.
  • May perform analysis and design of supporting technical infrastructures.
  • Supports clinical or operational implementations for assigned products, which may include testing and QA, reporting, product life cycle management, communication/collaboration with customers and vendors, and training users.
  • Manages technical debt on applications where responsibility has been specifically assigned.
  • Effectively diagnose reported incidents and then execute steps to either correct, manage or redirect those incidents quickly.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with other IT teams, vendors and often clinical side participants.
