About The Position
Join EvergreenHealth's renowned Family Maternity Center, where the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) plays a key role in supporting mothers, newborns, and families during some of life's most meaningful moments. In this position, you will coordinate clerical and reception functions, facilitate communication across the care team, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient, and patient-centered environment. Requirements
- High School graduation or equivalent.
- Must possess excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of related experience in a similar setting.
- Completion of a medical terminology course and/or a Health Unit Coordinator course.
Responsibilities
- Provides customer service to patients, families, and the cross-functional team.
- Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
- Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.
- Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
