Requirements

Health Unit Coordinator certificate or comparable work experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are essential.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills including ability to read, write, and speak English.
Knowledge of Achieve/Matrix computer applications for health information systems.
Basic knowledge of computers, including word processing skills.
High School diploma.

Responsibilities

Organizing and performing all functions related to maintaining accurate and complete resident health information.
Performing data entry functions including entering resident information into the computer and generating reports as required.
Performing non-direct care tasks according to facility procedures.
Developing and maintaining a tracking system for physicians and other outside providers of care to ensure quality resident care.
Maintaining the stock of nursing supplies, including forms and stationary, according to established guidelines.
