About The Position

The Health Unit Coordinator provides administrative and technical assistance to support the operation of an assigned nursing unit and collaborates with staff and leaders in the unit’s development, oversight, and operation. The role serves as a central communication hub for the nursing unit and contributes to the unit’s tone during the shift. Requirements

• Medical terminology coursework or equivalent education or experience.
• One year of experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program.
• Experience with a variety of software applications.

Nice To Haves

• One year of post-high-school education.
• Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework or equivalent education or experience.
• National Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator upon hire.
• Experience as a preceptor or role model.
