About The Position
The Health Unit Coordinator/Technician supports patient care in the Emergency Department, working under the direction of the Charge Nurse. The position serves as an organizational hub by coordinating communication, transcribing provider orders, maintaining accurate patient records, and facilitating collaboration among multidisciplinary care teams. The role also arranges interfacility transports and helps ensure smooth information flow so clinical staff can provide safe, efficient, high-quality care. Requirements
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clerical or receptionist position required.
- Complete mandatory review and education as required and assigned.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of hospital experience preferred.
- Medical terminology is strongly recommended.
- CNA, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification preferred.
