The Health Services Worker I is responsible for participating in case reviews to address health and disability program areas, determining special health care needs, restrictions, accommodations, necessary medications, or special diets for child enrollment. This role involves reviewing files, obtaining health and dental information, and scheduling or assisting parents in scheduling necessary health services for children according to state EPSDT requirements. The position also addresses immediate health concerns, manages communicable diseases, completes referrals, and may conduct home visits. Responsibilities include obtaining parental consent for services, preparing clinic paperwork, implementing health, nutrition, and disability programs, and ensuring IEP/IFSP development and monitoring. The role also involves implementing procedures for child accidents, emergencies, medication administration, hygiene, sanitation, and monitoring the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Coordination of health, disability, and home visits, as well as monitoring health and safety compliances, are key duties. The Health Services Worker will also assist in planning and coordinating staff training, submitting reports, data entry, and participating in the collection of non-federal shares. Additional duties include assisting in recruitment efforts, reporting suspected child abuse and neglect, and performing other assigned duties.
