The Bus Monitor is responsible for the safety and supervision of children during transportation. This includes conducting daily child health observations, securing child medications, ensuring children are properly restrained in safety seats, monitoring them throughout the journey, and managing the loading and unloading process according to transportation policies. The role also involves assisting the Bus Driver in emergencies, maintaining vehicle sanitation, implementing bus rules, providing educational activities for school readiness, and acting as a liaison between parents and center staff. Additionally, the Bus Monitor may provide short-term relief to classroom staff, assist with interpretation services, help fulfill staff/child ratios in classrooms or other center duties, and assist with building and playground maintenance. The position also entails transporting and supervising children and parents during meetings and field trips, participating in training for serving children with disabilities, assisting with recruitment, and potentially traveling to support other locations.
