About The Position

Performs maintenance and repairs work in all general areas, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and the ability to prioritize. Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis, depending on equipment. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, renovating, and construction of plumbing distribution and fixtures steam distribution and heating. Performs all required inspections, and testing and preventative maintenance on all the plumbing systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 25, 70, 72, 99, and 110. Good working knowledge of State and local codes and their application in healthcare.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two (2) years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university; or three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An additional three (3) years of journeyman-level plumbing experience required.
  • Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software proficiency
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history
  • Valid state-issued Journeyman Plumber’s license
  • CPR certification within six (6) months of hire

  • Ability to review and interpret highly technical information
  • Ability to write technical materials
  • Ability to speak persuasively to implement desired actions

  • Knowledge of design and construction standards
  • Knowledge of building codes and DNV requirements
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes 55, 99, 110, and regulations
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Good working knowledge of wet/dry sprinkler systems
  • Must not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA)
