About The Position

This position assists in the operation of a facility, performing routine preventive maintenance and major/minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures utilizing multiple craft skills. The role involves managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines. It also includes responsibilities related to vehicle maintenance, safe operation of heavy machinery, and leading/participating in teams to achieve business objectives. Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • 2 years’ experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in good standing in the state of work.
  • License in related trade in city and/or state of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Observes and documents signs of wear and tear, gathers capital expense information, and recommends repair or replacement needs.
  • Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures utilizing multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
  • Inspects, operates, or tests facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
  • Dismantles equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts.
  • Diagnoses problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
  • Utilizes hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment.
  • Provides prompt response to emergency calls.
  • Documents repair activities.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors.
  • Conducts price comparison of parts and travel-related costs.
  • Orders parts and replacement equipment and tracks orders.
  • Records purchases and usage and submits warranty claims.
  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensures contractors follow quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Identifies and reports deficiencies.
  • Unloads and stores equipment and transports equipment between facilities.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Follows safety procedures, responds to work orders, completes documentation, and coordinates with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles, and trailers are maintained in proper working order.
  • Performs other facility-related maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation approximately every 4–6 weeks to support business-critical needs outside of standard business hours.
  • Responds in a timely manner to incidents or requests during assigned on-call periods and supports issue resolution or appropriate escalation.
  • Maintains vehicles in working mechanical and cleanliness condition.
  • Coordinates and takes vehicles for required maintenance, ensuring alternate driving support is arranged.
  • Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures vehicles have all required documents.
  • Checks fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.
  • Submits maintenance invoices for payment and verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.
  • Wears company uniform and badge according to company policies and procedures.
  • Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant.
  • Identifies unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates as required.
  • Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools.

  • Coordinates and executes work assignments.
