About The Position

Performs maintenance and repairs work in all general areas, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and the ability to prioritize. Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis, depending on equipment. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, renovating, and construction of plumbing distribution and fixtures steam distribution and heating. Performs all required inspections, and testing and preventative maintenance on all the plumbing systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 25, 70, 72, 99, and 110. Good working knowledge of State and local codes and their application in healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); no exceptions.
  • At least three (3) years of experience required.
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State-issued Journeyman Plumber's license.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Decisive judgment.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and solve practical problems.
  • Interpret resulting data.
  • Knowledge of standards for design and construction.
  • Knowledge of building codes and DNV requirements and all applicable NFPA codes 55, 99, 110, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Good working knowledge of wet/dry sprinkler systems.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
