About The Position

The Health Sciences program is seeking an adjunct faculty member to provide temporary instructional coverage during a parental leave from August 30, 2026 through December 14, 2026. This position will teach both the lecture and lab components of Musculoskeletal Pathologies. This role is ideal for a clinician or educator with expertise in musculoskeletal conditions who is interested in contributing to undergraduate health sciences education in a supportive academic environment. The selected instructor will teach: • HS 656: Musculoskeletal Pathologies (Lecture) – Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:10–10:30 AM • HS 657: Musculoskeletal Pathologies Lab – Tuesdays, 10:10–11:00 AM This is an onsite teaching position. Course materials, including syllabi and instructional resources, will be provided, along with support to ensure a smooth course transition and delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., athletic training, physical therapy, physician associate/assistant, sports medicine, or similar field).
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and pathology
  • Able to teach in an onsite, in-person format.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning is required.
  • All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of students at the University of New Hampshire.

  • 5+ years actively working in the field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person lectures for Musculoskeletal Pathologies, including preparation and facilitation of class sessions twice weekly. Responsibilities include presenting course content, guiding student learning, integrating clinical examples, and fostering an engaging classroom environment. Utilize provided course materials and collaborate with program faculty as needed to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Facilitate weekly in-person lab sessions that reinforce lecture content through applied, hands-on learning. Responsibilities include guiding student practice, demonstrating techniques or assessments, ensuring a safe and organized lab environment, and supporting skill development aligned with course objectives.
  • Evaluate student work in a timely manner, including exams, assignments, and lab performance. Maintain accurate records of student progress, communicate expectations clearly, and provide feedback to support learning. Respond to student questions, hold limited office hours or availability as needed, and coordinate with program leadership regarding course progress and any student concerns.
