About The Position

JGM Fabricators & Constructors is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead and elevate safety across our structural steel fabrication operations. This is a hands-on, floor-driven leadership role focused on building a proactive safety culture—not just enforcing compliance. Requirements

  • 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing, heavy industry or industrial construction environment required
  • Structural steel fabrication highly preferred
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a shop environment
  • Strong understanding of Welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Overhead cranes, rigging, and material handling
  • Strong understanding of Heavy plate fabrication and industrial equipment
  • OSHA 30 (General Industry or Construction) required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on root cause and prevention
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Champion JGM’s HOME Safety Culture: Home Safe Every Day, Own Your Safety, Mindful of Hazards, Everyone is Responsible
  • Maintain a visible, on-the-floor presence engaging directly with shop teams
  • Lead behavior-based safety initiatives that drive accountability at all levels
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, PPE compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations
  • Partner with Operations and the Training Specialist to integrate safety into daily workflows
  • Deliver hands-on training for fabrication teams
  • Support onboarding and ongoing safety education initiatives
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Track and report key safety metrics (TRIR, near misses, leading indicators)
  • Identify trends and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
  • Improve processes related to: Rigging and crane operations, Welding and fabrication safety, Material handling and heavy equipment use
