About The Position

MWH is currently seeking a qualified Health & Safety Manager to support critical water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant projects for both municipal and industrial clients. The position will be based out of the Las Vegas, Nevada Metropolitan area. MWH Constructors is a global project delivery company in heavy civil construction with a focus on water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Safety & Health, Health Management or related field or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training
  • Minimum of 5 years' construction and safety experience, preferably in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal health & safety regulations, including OSHA and DOT.
  • In-depth knowledge of consensus standards, including NIOSH, ANSI, ASTM, and NFPA
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • All required safety, quality, and compliance training.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Health and Safety Professional (CHSP); or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing activities related to environmental and safety control.
  • Plans, implements, and coordinates programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develops accident prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of the organization.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety protocols and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and near misses and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety and awareness throughout the organization.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and new regulations to proactively address health and safety issues.
