About The Position

They are looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator who is passionate, detail-oriented, and proactive to help ensure the well-being of their teams across job sites. Working closely with the HSE Supervisor, this role will play a key part in promoting a strong safety culture across sites by implementing safety protocols, conducting training, and serving as the main point of contact for all health and safety matters. The HSE Coordinator will assist in the development and build of remarkable buildings, fostering enduring relationships with people, partners, and clients while maintaining Broccolini's core values.

Requirements

  • Must hold an NCSO designation or demonstrate equivalent safety certification and experience
  • Degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Calm under pressure and capable of influencing safe behavior
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and lead Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings, coordinate inspections, investigate work refusals, and collaborate with the Ministry of Labour when needed.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, ensure corrective actions are followed through, monitor air quality, and help secure the site daily.
  • Develop and implement emergency and evacuation plans, provide first aid, investigate incidents, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Deliver site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to ensure all trades and workers understand safe work practices.
  • Manage permits, inspection reports, qualification tracking, safety boards, and documentation related to compliance and enforcement.
