EH&S Program Coordinator-Clinical and Support Services / 40 Hour / Days This critical safety position will supervise the Safety and Compliance program within the Environmental Health & Safety department and support key CMS/Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care compliance programs. The position will work closely with Clinical, Support Services, Real Estate Facilities, Engineering departments to accomplish requirements of the role. The position reports to the EH&S Manager and ultimately to the Director of Environmental Health & Safety, coordinates up-to two other technical staff and is responsible for leading planning and tracking the BWH environmental health, safety and permitting programs with an emphasis on CMS/Joint Commission, OSHA, DEP/EPA, and the local town/city permits while standardizing programs with Brigham Health main campus. The role will also lead or participate in a range of other critical safety and compliance program elements that directly impact the quality and safety of patient care and research as well as regulatory risk to the enterprise. Ultimately, this position supports and collaborates closely with all Environmental Health & Safety Department (EA) activities and team members who aim to manage risks of workplace injury and illness, ensure business continuity and maintain compliance with pertinent EH&S codes, standards and guidelines. These EH&S activities include identifying hazards and safety issues; developing, implementing and monitoring effective hazard controls and solutions; and assuring continued effectiveness through safety systems development and continual process oversight and improvement. The position plans, coordinates and performs general safety functions that include conducting safety surveys, investigating incidents, exposure monitoring, managing hazardous materials, assisting in responding to various emergencies, training, and collecting and managing data and documentation. This position will cover assignments at all Brigham Health locations.
