The Health Records Technician is responsible for checking in, assembling, and analyzing the medical records of discharged patients in an established departmental format to ensure completeness and accuracy. This role ensures the timely availability of quality scanned documents in the electronic medical record for patient care. Responsibilities include retrieval, reconciliation, preparation, scanning, quality control checks, and validation of records to ensure the highest quality. The technician will review, compile, index, and categorize documents, ensuring accuracy and routing to the correct patient in the electronic medical record. A 100% quality review of scanned documents is conducted, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve related issues. Understanding the integrity and legality of the electronic medical record through validation and completion of the quality review process is essential.
