About The Position

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Health Promotion and Administration in the Klotz Student Health Center (SHC), the Health Promotion Assistant provides overall support to the Klotz Health Promotion (HP) unit and the Klotz Matadors4Wellness (M4W) Peer Health Education program. The Health Promotion Assistant will work collaboratively with HP staff and campus partners to support HP programming, education, and assessment initiatives. Provides support to Matadors 4 Wellness (M4W) Peer Health Education Program. Teaches college health topics (e.g., stress management, sleep difficulties, alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs prevention, sexual and reproductive health, etc.) Teaches public speaking and tabling outreach skills. Accompanies peer educators to presentations and outreaches. Assists with weekly meetings and trainings. Maintains Excel spreadsheets and files to coordinate HP projects, presentations, and other outreach events. Provides HP presentations and engages in campus outreach events. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends in a 40-hour workweek.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience with college peer education strongly preferred.
  • Experience with graphic design of ADA accessible materials preferred.
