About The Position

Global Solutions Network (GSN), a federal government contracting firm, presents this full time, long-term position supporting GSN's customer at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This position provides a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. This position will work with the Journal of Replication and Reproducibility (JRR) team to coordinate JRR’s partnerships efforts in the replication/reproducibility research and publishing industry, as well as report on the effectiveness of these efforts through stakeholder evaluations and summary reports. This position will also research effective strategies being used in other scholarly journal programs to support replication science and facilitate partnerships and strategies to support institutions to complete sponsored studies for publication in JRR. This position will be vital to the launch of the JRR program, in order to drive collaboration and engagement, as well as driving submissions and establishing the journal as a reputable source for verified replication studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Communications or related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates community outreach efforts and activities for the program.
  • Develop and execute study recruitment plans and strategies, to include marketing, community outreach, health education, etc. for all clinical research studies and provide support for promotional special events such as open houses, outreach and community events, tours, etc.
  • Implement recruitment plans according to agreed schedule, such as placing print ads, arranging television or radio spots, preparing mailings, etc. and provide detailed reports on recruiting, outreach and screening results.
  • Develop and execute community engagement and study recruitment plans and strategies, to include marketing, community outreach, health education, etc. for all clinical research studies.
  • Coordinate the community outreach and social marketing platform and maintain a consistent message in the community regarding the program mission.
  • Work with staff on planning and implementing the program to encourage participation by the public in clinical trials and in building public trust and make recommendations to Principal Investigators researchers for media campaigns for research study protocols.
  • Facilitate and interact with community organizations and advocacy groups on behalf of the research program.
  • Attends and gives presentations at major conferences or meetings and participates in discussion with community groups.
  • Attend meetings to represent and discuss participant recruiting and screening.
  • Coordinate and maintain focus groups regarding social impact and community understanding regarding vaccine clinical trials.
  • Assess knowledge, community understanding, and attitudes regarding research trials and utilize that information in recruitment strategies.
  • Work with staff on dissemination of research findings to the advisory board and to the broader study community.
  • Serve as a project coordinator for the research studies and become involved in organizing available time and space for community health and needs assessments
  • Manage the logistics of community advisory board meetings for the lab, capturing expert feedback and following up on resulting recommendations from each meeting.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with a variety of community organizations (e.g. community health centers, state medical agencies, managed care organizations).
  • Manage the execution and day-to-day operations of assigned clinical trial participant recruitment programs.
  • Use social media, digital technologies and search engine optimization to strategically target patient recruitment messages and promote approved clinical research advertising.
  • Organize and liaison with community members to develop programs that will engage and educate communities to increase awareness of research.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and provide technical assistance to other NIH departments around recruitment, health education, advertisement, outreach and retention.
  • Discuss patient recruitment and accrual to clinical studies with researchers; government agencies, private sector healthcare organizations, community organizations and visitors.
  • Build and maintain alliances with outside groups (such as disease advocacy groups, hospitals and other stakeholders) to support referrals to clinical studies.
  • Coordinates the analysis and evaluation of outreach activities, including internal and external partnership.
  • Review community-based communications plans and programs as they evolve and provide recommendations for change and improvement.
  • Manage the production and implementation of multiple forms of recruitment strategies, including television, radio and direct mail advertising campaigns.
  • Assess knowledge, community understanding, and attitudes regarding clinical research and utilize that information in recruitment strategies for the Program.
  • Meet with organizations and communities at the regional and national levels to present the Program and to facilitate Study-community relations.
  • Assess published and public literature regarding best practices for recruitment, retention and outreach.
  • Work with staff to coordinate content management of recruitment materials, advertisements and social marketing messages.
  • Works closely with management to coordinate content of materials, advertisements and marketing messages.
  • Initiate and maintain databases of pending and approved materials, core community contacts, recruitment and participation histories, and program performance measures.
  • Coordinate relevant data, including facts, figures, statistics and graphics for use in documents and presentations.
  • Monitor and evaluate of program metrics and management of program timelines.
  • Collect, organize and analyze data used in reporting the cost-effectiveness, efficacy, and efficiency of recruitment programs and advertisement campaigns.
  • Plan and develop marketing and communications materials in support of clinical trials recruitment to include designing layouts and preparing copy for recruitment materials.
  • Consult with graphic designers or copy writers about clinical protocols and recruitment strategies to develop effective recruitment material.
