About The Position

The Application Analyst II serves as a key member of the HSCSN technology team, supporting application solutions that enable health plan operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. Working closely with operational, clinical, financial, technology, and analytics stakeholders across the health plan, this role is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, testing, enhancement, and ongoing support of business applications supporting claims, membership and eligibility, provider operations, utilization management, care management, appeals and grievances, and other core business functions. The Application Analyst II partners with business and technical teams to analyze requirements, optimize workflows, resolve issues, and implement system enhancements that improve operational effectiveness and user experience. The successful candidate combines strong analytical, technical, and communication skills with an understanding of healthcare operations and a commitment to delivering reliable solutions that improve enrollee outcomes and organizational performance. Experience with healthcare payer operations and enterprise business applications is preferred; experience with Epic technologies is a plus. The Epic Application Analyst II supports the design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of Clinical or Revenue Cycle applications. Under guidance from senior analysts and team leads, this role assists in system configuration, troubleshooting, and end-user support to ensure effective use of the application. The analyst collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to clinical, financial, and operational workflows while contributing to system optimization and user experience improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university with major coursework in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Strong capability to assess complex issues, troubleshoot system functionalities, and develop practical solutions that optimize healthcare and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, document processes clearly, and engage stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Project Coordination & Time Management – Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and independently coordinate projects of varying complexity, ensuring that objectives are met on time and with high quality.
  • Healthcare & Revenue Cycle Knowledge – In-depth knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and revenue cycle processes, with the ability to leverage Epic systems to align with organizational goals and needs.
  • Adaptability & Resilience – Ability to adjust priorities based on evolving business needs, stay focused and productive under pressure, and successfully navigate changes in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of Clinical or Revenue Cycle applications.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary workgroups to achieve team goals and optimize system functionality.
  • Develops intermediate knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and workflows to effectively educate and support end users.
  • Participates in routine meetings with department leaders and/or superusers to identify, document, and prioritize system needs.
  • Provides technical support services, troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.
  • Supports Epic and other applications through software maintenance, break-fixes, optimizations, special updates, upgrades, and implementations.
  • Conducts assessment, coordination, documentation, release note review, testing, and implementation of programming, upgrade, and project requests.
  • Provides on-call coverage as scheduled, ensuring timely resolution of system issues.
  • Follows prescribed change management, time reporting, and documentation processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Responds to support calls within designated timeframes, prioritizing issues and providing regular updates until resolution.
  • Documents and communicates system support, status updates, and issue resolutions clearly and effectively.
  • Maintains current Epic certifications and participates in new version training to stay up to date with system enhancements and best practices.
