About The Position

The Application Analyst I serves as a key member of the HSCSN technology team, supporting application solutions that enable health plan operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. Working closely with operational, clinical, financial, technology, and analytics stakeholders across the health plan, this role assists with the configuration, maintenance, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of business applications supporting claims, membership and eligibility, provider operations, utilization management, care management, appeals and grievances, and other core business functions. The Application Analyst I partners with business and technical teams to understand requirements, support workflow improvements, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to system enhancements that improve operational effectiveness and user experience. The successful candidate combines strong analytical, technical, and communication skills with an interest in healthcare technology and a commitment to developing expertise in health plan operations and enterprise applications. Experience with healthcare payer operations or enterprise business applications is preferred; experience with Epic technologies is a plus. The Epic Application Analyst I is responsible for the design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of Clinical or Revenue Cycle applications. This role collaborates across interdisciplinary teams, serving as a trusted partner to clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to optimize system functionality and enhance user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major course work in computer science, Information Technology, engineering, or equivalent related experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems.
  • EPIC Certification 60 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare payer operations or enterprise business applications is preferred
  • Experience with Epic technologies is a plus
  • Working knowledge and subject matter expertise in the assigned operational department area.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and support of Clinical or Revenue Cycle applications under the guidance of senior analysts and team leads.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support system optimization and achieve team goals.
  • Develops foundational knowledge of system capabilities, applications, and workflows to assist end users and contribute to system improvements.
  • Participates in meetings with department staff and superusers to gather requirements, document needs, and support prioritization efforts.
  • Provides first-level technical support services, troubleshooting issues, and escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Assists with software updates, optimizations, break-fixes, and implementations by performing file maintenance, testing, and documentation tasks.
  • Supports system assessments, release note reviews, and upgrade processes by coordinating with senior analysts and stakeholders.
  • Provides on-call coverage as assigned, assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Adheres to change management, time reporting, and documentation requirements to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Responds to support requests in a timely manner, escalating when necessary, and maintaining clear communication on issue resolution.
  • Maintains current Epic certifications and completes required training to stay up to date with system enhancements and best practices.
