About The Position
UW Medicine Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC) has an outstanding opportunity for an HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNICIAN 2. This position is 100% FTE and 100% ONSITE at the SANDPOINT LOCATION. The work schedule is Weekdays, Day shift from 8 AM-4:30 PM. The Health Information Technician 2 is responsible for implementing the mission and goals of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle (ERC), and incorporating information governance principles.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent including two years’ experience with medical records, or, equivalent education and experience
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Epic or Cerner applications
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Responsibilities
- Utilize RightFax for faxes, printing patient letters, billing records, and medical records in Epic, and shared drive
- Performs day-to-day office operations activities including receiving, sorting, and preparing incoming and outgoing ERC mail
- Prepares and prints patient medical records and billing records for Release of Information and Patient Financial Services for mailing
- Tracks and updates release status in Epic comments for printing and mailing patient medical records and billing records
